The Middle School Standards-Based Report Card Committee was established in January of 2007 to begin the process of creating a reporting system at all four middle schools based upon measurement of student progress toward state and national standards.

The committee was comprised of representatives from each of the four middle schools, central office staff and parent representatives. Teacher representatives included teachers in the disciplines of Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, and Physical Education.

During the 2008-2009 school year, the continued work of the Middle School Standards-Based Report Card Committee will be centered around the alignment of curriculum across courses and the development of common assessments to be used in the eventual implementation of the new report card.  This work is critical and must be completed before the committee re-convenes during the 2009-2010 school year.  The Curriculum Department, under the direction of Director Jim Facciano, will lead this effort in collaboration with teachers from each of the four middle schools.
