The current technology levy was approved by voters in February 2016. This four year levy is effective January 2017; levy collections and related projects will occur through December 2020.

Other focuses of the technology levy:
Digital Citizenship – Digital Citizenship includes several areas of work including teaching students about online health, ethics and providing support to families and students.
Assistive Technologies – We will provide assistive technologies for students of all abilities so they can succeed in the classroom and beyond.
Staff Support – Staff support includes educational technology coaches, full-time library media specialists and an investment in professional learning.
In 2016-17, staff at Options, Squalicum and Kulshan receive devices. In 2017-18, students receive devices at those schools.
In 2017-18, staff at Bellingham, Sehome, Fairhaven, Shuksan, Whatcom, Carl Cozier and Roosevelt receive devices. In 2018-19, students at those schools receive devices.
In 2018-19, staff at all remaining elementary schools receive devices. In 2019-20, all remaining elementary school students receive devices.
In 2020 all students and staff have devices. The elementary 1:1 integration begins in grade 3.
