Interested in serving as a community panelist for our senior project presentations?

Please read below the background information and time commitment needed to serve on a panel.

All seniors in Bellingham’s four high schools are expected to complete a Culminating Project as a part of their graduation requirements. The project gives students the chance to connect with the community by

  • developing or improving a skill or performance,
  • designing or creating a product, service, system or event, or
  • investigating a career.

The three components for each project are:

  • Proposal that states the goals and gives the plan
  • Field Work 8 to 20 hours of community based field work
  • Presentation to a panel of teachers and community members

In all four high schools (Bellingham, Options, Sehome and Squalicum), seniors will be given two or more Culminating Project presentation options at their school. Groups of students will present to panels.  As many as 500 community panelists may be needed to participate in the groups.

The time commitment for each panelist will be two to three hours.

The high schools will provide time for training, listening to presentations, and giving feedback.
