Assessment & Evaluation

The Assessment and Evaluation service area coordinates assessment and evaluation efforts in the district. This area supports the administration of district and state assessments and assists in the use of this data in the educational decision-making process. We work in collaboration with Curriculum and Professional Development as the Curriculum Department.

Washington Educational Research Association (WERA) provides guidelines for test preparation and administration in Ethical Standards in Testing.

The 2009-2010 District Assessment Calendar and supporting documents provide a timeline for assessments and the tasks for administration.

State Assessment Information and Results provides school and district with summaries of performance on state assessments, as well as information about test specifications and sample items. Support for school staff involved with test coordination and administration is also found in State Assessment Information and Results.

Teachers access District Assessment Information and Results for support with consistent evaluation practices.

Schools use Family Information for School Newsletters to communicate assessment information to parents.
