Highly Capable Student Nomination

Currently accepting nominations for students in 2nd through 8th grade for entrance into the 2012-2013 school year.  Testing will occur this Spring.

Any person (including a parent, teacher, or student) may nominate a student to the Highly Capable Learners' Program.  To make a nomination, complete the HCL Program Nomination Form.  The person making the nomination is responsible for obtaining parent and school signatures on the nomination form.  The form cannot be submitted electronically.  The completed form, along with a copy of the student's most recent report card, must be submitted to the Curriculum Office by February 16, 2012.

Screening:

Nominated students will be screened by HCL staff using the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT)).  A student needs a composite score of 95% or higher on either the verbal or quantitative section to be eligible for the HCL program assessment (see below).
