Graduation Requirements Task Force

Purpose
To review and revise the current Bellingham School District graduation requirements to ensure that all Bellingham graduates are college ready.

Basis for Establishment

• The Bellingham School District strategic plan’s commitment to having all students graduate from high school ready for college.
• Gaps between Bellingham School District requirements for graduation and entrance requirements of colleges and universities.

Plan

• Review District Strategic Plan
• Review current district graduation requirements
• Review current data regarding graduation rates, college readiness, etc.
• Review college/university entrance requirements
• Define the scope of the work
• Create a recommendation for changes in Bellingham’s graduation requirements that includes a timeline for implementation, analysis of staffing impacts and phase-in plan
