Operation School Bell® is a philanthropic project of The Assistance League® of Bellingham, providing new clothing to elementary school children (K-5th) who qualify financially.

This program operates on Saturdays and some Sundays, September thru February, from the Assistance League® of Bellingham’s Thrift and Gift Shop at 1324 Cornwall Avenue in downtown Bellingham.

The Readiness to Learn Program in Categorical Programs and Student Support provides district coordination.

New clothing provided to each elementary age child (K-5th) includes:

  • 1 winter coat
  • 1 hat
  • 1 pair of gloves
  • 1 hooded sweatshirt
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2 tee-shirts
  • 6 pairs of socks
  • 6 pairs of underwear
  • 1 toiletry kit
  • 1 shoe voucher for $20 to Payless Shoe Store–Bellis Fair Mall store only

It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to keep their appointment time and to transport their child to The Assistance League® Thrift and Gift Shop.
