Federal and Special Programs

The programs in Federal and Special Programs supplement the regular education services made available from basic education funding. The funds for these supplementary services come from state and federal sources with specific regulations that guide their use.

Title I/Learning Assistance Programs:  Supplemental Reading and/or Math support for selected students is the focus for Title I and LAP resources. These programs serve specific schools that meet the criteria set by the federal and state governments.

English Language Learner Program:  Students new to the United States who speak a language other than English are taught the English language as participants of the ELL Program. The services are available to each student who meets the criteria established by the state.

Highly Capable Learners' Program:  The HCL Program is designed to supplement the individual and school needs for students who are identified as gifted. Gifted students are students who have met the state and district criteria for program inclusion.
