Summer Hours and School Registration for Fall 2012

Elementary and middle school offices are closed for the summer beginning Friday, June 29. Elementary and middle school offices reopen to the public from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 22. Options High School reopens to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. on Aug. 22.

Throughout the summer, families may enroll new elementary and middle school students from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the District Office, 1306 Dupont St. For school and attendance area information, visit http://bellinghamschools.org/attendanceareas or call 676-6400.

Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high school offices will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and closed to the public on Fridays July 2 through Aug. 10. High school offices will be closed to the public for the July 4 holiday on July 4, 5 and 6. Starting the week of Aug. 13, high school offices will be open every day but still on summer hours until all secretaries return. Starting August 28, offices are open 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

The District Office will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and closed to the public on Fridays, beginning July 2 through Aug.10. The District Office also will be closed to the public for the July 4 holiday on July 4, 5 and 6.

School begins for students in grades 1-12 on Tuesday, Sept. 4. 

Kindergarten entry conferences with incoming students and parents will occur at the start of the year; please check with your school for details on kindergarten entry conferences and the first day of school for kindergarteners.

Schedules for middle and high school orientations and athletic/activities turnout and elementary "meet and greet" times are posted on school websites and school online calendars.

All registered Bellingham School District families will receive a back-to-school packet in the mail in mid-August that includes the school year calendar, program and school contact information, an application for free/reduced school meals, information about low-cost student health insurance, bus information and a privacy form for opting out of release of student directory information.

Bus schedules will be updated by Aug. 20 for the 2012-13 school year at http://bellinghamschools.org/transportation. Routes are updated on this website throughout the school year to reflect new student enrollment.
