Thank you, Bellingham Voters!

Updated: Nov. 12, 2013

A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

On behalf of our students, school board and all staff in Bellingham Public Schools, I want to extend a hearty thank you to our Bellingham community, which is voting in support of the facilities bond.

I am excited about what this bond will mean for our students and our community. There are so many important projects that will move forward because of our community’s support, and all of the new or improved facilities will benefit students for years to come.

We are extremely grateful to our Bellingham voters!

Our facilities bond passed by 66 percent. You can keep track of the final ballot returns at the Whatcom County Auditor’s election results page. The next round of results will be posted tomorrow at 5 p.m. and the election will be certified Nov. 26, 2013.

This bond represents an incredible amount of work by a lot of great people. I want to extend special thanks to the members of the Facilities Planning Task Force and Citizens Advisory Committee for their service to our schools and the larger community. They have given countless hours over the last year, analyzing our school facilities, prioritizing the areas of greatest need, and conducting important voter education and outreach.

We would not be where we are tonight without the hard work and dedication of literally hundreds of parent, community and staff volunteers.

Thank you, all!

Greg Baker
