Sehome High School Project Update Meeting May 24

Dear Current and Future Sehome High School Families, Neighbors, and Community,

We are excited to share with you an update on our plans to build a new Sehome High School on its current campus.

Thanks to voter approval of the November 2013 school facilities bond, our students and larger community will benefit from a new Sehome High School. It will be an outstanding place for students to discover and develop a passion for learning, which is the heart of our shared vision as described in our strategic plan, The Bellingham Promise.

You are invited to attend a parent/community project update meeting:

Tuesday, May 24, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sehome High School Cafeteria, 2700 Bill McDonald Parkway

This will be a great opportunity to learn more about our plans and talk with members of the Sehome High School Design Advisory Committee, comprised of students, staff, parents, architects, contractors and community members.

I’d like to also take this opportunity to thank those of you who participated in our big picture brainstorming process in November and shared your hopes, dreams and visions for the new Sehome. Our advisory group used that feedback to develop guiding principles, which influenced the current design and plans for our new school.

I anticipate receiving a recommendation from this committee in the coming weeks, and the new Sehome is scheduled to be completed by fall 2019.

We appreciate your support of our schools and strive to be good communicators and neighbors. We hope to see you on May 24. You can also learn more on our website’s page dedicated to the Design Advisory Committee.

Thank you,

Greg Baker
