The first day of class for students in grades 1-12 is Wednesday, Aug. 29. For school start and end times, please visit our bell schedule webpage. The first days for kindergarten students are Thursday, Aug. 30 and Friday, Aug. 31. They will attend on a half day schedule from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. including time for lunch. We encourage all eligible kindergarten bus riders to take the school bus home on Aug. 30 and 31 to learn how. Kindergarten entry conferences will take place those afternoons. General Information

Please visit Families on the district’s website for the following information or click on the links below:

For other school-specific information, contact your school or visit the school website. For general district information, call 360-676-6400.

Bus Routes

Routes will be posted at bellinghamschools.org/transportation by Aug. 21. Transportation is currently updating bus routes to safely serve students’ transportation needs and operate as efficiently as possible. Transportation uses a computerized system to update pick-up and drop-off times as well as bus stops. This work has been occurring all summer. Eligible riders will receive a letter home when bus routes and times have been set for 2018-19.

Preschool and special education transportation information will be mailed the week before school starts. Please check this information carefully because your child’s bus pick-up and drop-off time, as well as your bus stop, may have changed from last year.

We kindly ask that you do not call Transportation prior to receiving the bus information in the mail. This will allow staff to stay focused on completing this work for all district families.

For participation in athletics, student athletes need to complete an athletic registration form each year. This may be done through online registration in Skyward Family Access. Once logged in, click on Online Forms to complete registration. If you need help with your login, contact your school registrar. A benefit of the online registration is that your information is saved making the process easier when registering for athletics next school year. This also allows the athletics and activities office to verify that all forms are turned in prior to the first practice ensuring your student will be able to participate. Computers are available for families with limited internet access and you may call your school’s athletics and activities office for support while filling out the online registration. If you’re unable to complete the online registration, you may print these forms in English (Spanishand return them to your school/athletic office. In addition to the forms, your student will need a current sports physical on file.

After completing the online registration forms, your student will need to be cleared for each sports season at their school’s activities office before they can participate in any sport. See your school’s clearance schedule below. A current sports physical exam (form), which cannot expire during the sport season, is required for the student to participate in athletics.
