Design your Future: a Career and College Planning Event Hosted at Bellingham High School

Bellingham Public Schools will host Design Your Future, a career and college readiness workshop, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Bellingham High School. The evening will be an opportunity for high school students and families to begin thinking about and planning their post high school years.

Free pizza will be served at 5 p.m. courtesy of Little Caesar’s and the Bellingham Public Schools Foundation.

The keynote address begins at 5:30 p.m. with presenter Craig Lang, co-founder and director of BRAVO 369 Flight Foundation and a professional writer and international speaker. Lang also serves as chair of the district’s Career and Technical Education General Advisory Council. He will speak on “Discovering your Passion.”

Following the keynote presentation, three break-out sessions hosted by regional higher education specialists will take place on a variety of topics. Students/families will have an opportunity to attend three breakout sessions.  A sampling of these sessions includes:

  • College Quest at Western Washington University
  • Strategies to Maximize Financial Aid
  • Technical College/Community College Opportunities
  • DigiPen Institute of Technology
  • Services Academies, ROTC, and Officer Training
  • Apprenticeships
  • The ACT and SAT, and
  • Covering College Costs.
