Financial Aid Filing Assistance Available This Month for Seniors

Grade 12 students and their parent/guardians are invited to attend college financial aid filing events. Counselors and financial aid experts will be on hand to help students and parents fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

This year the FAFSA filing window opened on Oct. 1, three months earlier than past years. The U.S. Department of Education has some helpful tips on filing. Click here to avoid some of the pitfalls.

Assistance to file will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Squalicum High School and from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Oct. 20 at Bellingham High School.

Each session includes workshops on financial aid and scholarships.

In advance of these support sessions, please go to https://fafsa.ed.gov to retrieve your Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID.
