Dear Families and Community,
I’m pleased to announce that Sharece Steinkamp has accepted the principalship at Geneva Elementary School and Arionda Feeney has accepted the principalship at Carl Cozier Elementary School. Both had been serving as interim principal since July, and now they are stepping into the role in an official capacity.
I am impressed with both of these new leaders. Ms. Steinkamp and Ms. Feeney are doing outstanding work to foster positive school culture.
Prior to coming to Geneva, Ms. Steinkamp provided administrative support to the team at Cordata Elementary as dean from 2014 to 2016, then as assistant principal from 2016 to June 2018. She taught social studies and AVID and was an AVID coordinator and instructional coach at Shuksan Middle School from 2000 to 2014. Ms. Steinkamp has her bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University and her master’s from Grand Canyon University. She earned her administrative credentials from Western. Ms. Steinkamp is passionate about kids and loves being a part of the Geneva community.
Before coming to Carl Cozier, Ms. Feeney taught third grade at Wade King Elementary and served as a dean of students/support at Silver Beach Elementary. Prior to joining our district in 2015, she taught elementary students at St. Paul’s Academy in Bellingham and Kealakehe Elementary School in Hawaii. She was an elementary principal at Westside School in Seattle from 2013-15. Ms. Feeney has a bachelor’s degree in communications and political science, and a master’s of education degree in leadership and community education both from Western Washington University. She is nationally board certified in literacy and received her administrative certification in 2012. Ms. Feeny is a great communicator and dedicated leader, and she loves being a part of the Cozier community.
Please join me in congratulating them!
