Summer Hours

Elementary and middle school offices are closed for the summer.

The District Office will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday the week of June 26. Beginning the week of July 3, the District Office will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and closed to the public on Fridays through July 28. The District Office and high school offices will be closed to the public on Tuesday, July 4.

Throughout the summer, families may enroll new elementary and middle school students Monday through Thursday, June 26 to August 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the District Office, 1306 Dupont Street. High school families can pick up registration materials at their school.

Beginning June 19, Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum high school offices will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. From July 3-28, high school offices will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and closed on Friday. Starting the week of July 31, high school offices will be open every day, but still on summer hours until all secretaries return. Starting Aug. 14, high school offices are open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Elementary schools and middle schools reopen to the public from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10. Families and students may register for Options High School at Bellingham High School Aug. 10 to 18. Options High School reopens Aug. 21.

2017-18 School Year

School begins for students in preschool and grades 1-12 on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017.

Kindergarten students will start school Thursday and Friday, Aug. 24 and 25, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with lunch served. Please check with your school regarding kindergarten entry conferences. The first full-day of kindergarten will be Monday, Aug. 28.

Schedules for middle and high school orientations and athletic/activities turnout and elementary “meet and greet” times will be posted on school websites and school online calendars.

All registered Bellingham Public School families will receive a packet in the mail in early-August that includes the school year calendar, program and school contact information, an application for free/reduced school meals, bus information and a privacy form for opting out of release of student-related publicity.

Bus schedules will be updated by mid-August for 2017-18. Bus stops and times are updated on this website throughout the school year to reflect new student enrollment.
