Supporting families impacted by the government shutdown

A message from food services and wellness

Bellingham Public Schools is committed to supporting families affected by the federal government shutdown by inviting them to apply for free or reduced meals during this time. During a furlough, households with furloughed employees are encouraged to apply for benefits; usually income eligibility guidelines for free and reduced price school meals are based on annual income, in this instance we can use adjusted criteria on the application. In Bellingham, it is important that all our students have access to nutritious meals. Children are never denied school meals because of an inability to pay.
