Thank you, Bellingham Voters!

A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear Families and Community,

I am delighted to let you know that as of the first election results released on the evening of Feb. 13, 2018, our facilities bond is passing by 69.6 percent. You can keep track of the final vote totals at the Whatcom County Auditor’s election results page. The next round of results will be posted tomorrow at 5 p.m. and the election will be certified Feb. 23, 2018.

We are so thankful to our voters! I am excited about what this bond will mean for our students and our community. There are so many important projects that will move forward because of our community’s support, and all of the new or improved facilities will benefit our students for years to come.

This bond represents an incredible amount of work by a lot of great people. Many of our colleagues worked hard, collaborating closely with our community on a wealth of research and planning that went in to this proposal. I want to thank our school board for approving the bond resolution, the Facilities Planning Task Force for analyzing our school facilities and prioritizing the areas of greatest need and the Citizens for Bellingham Schools for their service to our schools and the countless hours they have given conducting important voter education and outreach.

We would not be where we are tonight without the hard work and dedication of literally thousands of our neighbors and friends.

We thank you all.

Greg Baker
