Develop your information-seeking strategies.
By now, you should know the types of volcanoes, and be able to
identify Mt. Baker's type. As you continue in your research, you
will be looking for answers to these questions:
- What are
the hazards of a volcanic eruption?
- What causes
- How does
this hazard affect people, plants, animals and property?
- Which hazard
is most likely to affect the citizens of Bellingham, Washington?
There are three basic parts of planning:
- Plan to work as a team. What will you need to do to make the best use of your time, and to ensure that all team members participate.
- Prepare your graphic organizer. Open the Graphic Organizer for this project and print it or save it in a place where you will be able to access it later. The questions above have already been entered into the organizer for you. Enter the volcanic hazards you will be studying.
- Select your resources. For this project, some good resources have been selected for you. You will find them on the Gathering page.
