The Department of Teaching and Learning consists of the following offices, which work in coordination in support of all schools:
The Department also supports the Highly Capable Learners' Program, Student Health Services/school nurses, the Family Support Center, preschool/early childhood, counseling, elementary and middle school physical education, elementary and middle school music program, middle school athletics, homeschool and the summer school program
The Deputy Superintendent and the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning supervise administrators of these offices and programs, as well as principals. Their role is to provide assistance to the superintendent and provide leadership and support to administrators and principals to help students achieve high levels of success. The Deputy Superintendent and Executive Director also facilitate and serve on districtwide committees and task groups.
The Department of Teaching and Learning implements policies and directives from the Board of Directors and supports and monitors the district’s strategic plan.
