Emergency and Safety

Keeping our students and staff safe at school is a top priority. Bellingham Public Schools coordinates with all local emergency responders to ensure our procedures and plans for fire, earthquake, lockdowns and other drills are current and reflect best practices for student safety

School Meals

Low cost, nutritious meals are served to more than 6,000 students every day through breakfasts and lunches offered in all Bellingham Public Schools.

School Supplies

In Bellingham Public Schools we provide school supplies for all students.

Skylert

Skylert enables you to receive notifications concerning your child(ren), including messages from Bellingham Public Schools and your child’s school. You have control over which notifications to receive and how you would like to receive them. Skylert is accessed via Skyward Family Access, so it is no longer necessary to login to a separate portal for SchoolMessenger to manage contact preferences.

Transportation

We safely transport more than 3,500 students to and from school buildings throughout the district.

Weather Procedures and Snow Routes

We will use SchoolMessenger to notify parents of school weather closures or delays. If you have an email address in Skyward Family Access, you will receive an email notification.

Dress Code

Part of The Bellingham Promise, our strategic plan, strives to develop students and graduates who are respectful and compassionate humans. We want students to respect themselves and others. While we encourage individuality, the district’s dress code aims to foster a positive and healthy environment. Learn more…
