Thanks again for all of your flexibility with today’s wind storm. Our students and staff did a great job weathering the power outages. And now, for some other information I wanted to share with you today and to ask that you please take a few minutes to watch this video clip…
You will soon hear more about our plans to revise our schools’ bell schedules (start and end times) for 2017-18 (one year from this coming fall ) to improve the health of our students. We will also share future plans to increase electives at our high schools.
These updates will be coming in the next few weeks, so please watch your email, along with our website and social media accounts.
After receiving a lot of thoughtful feedback last spring and this past fall from staff, students and families, we believe we are getting closer to schedules that will benefit students’ health and strengthen their academic experience.
In the meantime, I wanted to share a brief video clip from an interview I did, along with Assistant Superintendent Steve Clarke, with two of our high school students. The topic of this edition of “What’s Up Doc?” includes some of our current thinking about bell schedules and high school electives.
You can view the second part of the complete interview here.
Please note: School start and end times for next school year (2016-17) will remain the same as they currently are to allow for plenty of planning time.
I hope you and your family are enjoying the early signs of spring, minus the wind, of course.
