First day reflections and gratitude

A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker

Dear staff, families, students and community,

I want to share a quick reflection and thank you for an incredible first day of school.

While many students last year were able to experience some in-person learning, it feels like a celebration to bring everyone back for our regular schedule.

I enjoyed stopping by a number of schools today and saw so many smiling faces (or at least smiling eyes behind the masks!), helpful staff, and excited and nervous families all working together to bring positivity and joy to our students.

Thank you for all you have done to be ready for today. From mask-wearing and following COVID protocols to unpacking boxes at our new Alderwood and Parkview elementary schools, prepping school lunches and driving buses – it takes our entire community!

Here are a few photos from our schools today. You can see more at our Facebook or Instagram pages.

Wishing you a great year!
