Dear Sehome Community and Families,
Many of our staff, students and members of our community participated in an official groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for the new Sehome High School. You can see photos and a video on Facebook of the festive and wet celebration. It’s hard to believe that we’ll be walking through a brand new school in just over two years!
The groundbreaking we did this week was more than ceremonial; our contractors will be starting their work in earnest in the coming weeks.
We will be closing access to our track and football fields next week (April 3), then fencing off and demolishing our tennis courts at the end of the school year (on or after June 16). Our baseball field will be closed starting July 4 and will re-open the start of the 2017-18 school year. Feel free to forward this email to anyone you know who uses our field(s) or courts.
We will keep you posted as different parts of our campus are impacted by the construction. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns, and we appreciate your patience. Our coaches and student athletes have been very understanding as we work to relocate some teams during the construction months. It’ll be an exciting 2+ years of transition on the Sehome campus!
