Recycling bricks from Parkview and Alderwood

A Message from capital projects

Help us recycle! We are in the process of rebuilding Parkview and Alderwood elementary schools, which are slated to open this fall.

Construction crews at both sites are sorting demolition material and leaving piles of bricks regularly for anyone to take starting today, July 12 through July 23.

Parkview’s bricks can be found just outside the construction fence near the old entry at 3033 Coolidge Drive, and Alderwood’s bricks will be near 3400 Hollywood Ave.

These bricks are free, and we invite anyone who is interested to take as many as they need.

Bellingham Public Schools is committed to sustainability, and we are proud that our contractors are recycling steel and copper from the old schools and salvaging lumber, including beams and posts.

Watch our progress on construction work cams (see school names on the top tab) or find more information about our capital projects on our website.
