A Message from Superintendent Greg Baker
Dear families, students, staff and community,
We were deeply saddened to hear the news of the school shooting today at a Texas elementary school.
As we learn more details about this tragic incident in the hours and days ahead, we want to share some resources for talking with children to help them cope with this news. Our mental health and wellness webpage contains resources for talking to children about violence and traumatic incidents.
Keeping our students and staff safe at school is our top priority, and we take precautions every day to ensure our schools are safe, welcoming places for all students and families to learn and thrive. You can learn more at our school safety webpage. We know that safety planning goes beyond drills and security cameras. It takes thoughtful, well-trained staff to provide support for our students, including counselors, our student services team, safety support specialist, mental health specialists, campus monitors, teachers and many others.
I encourage anyone struggling to reach out to those you trust in our schools and our community. Remember that each of our schools is filled with people who care about our families, students and staff, and we are here to help.
