Voluntary student accident insurance plans available for 2021-22 school year

The safety of our students is of critical importance to all of us in Bellingham Public Schools, and we want to protect them as much as possible from injury. However, accidents do happen both at school and elsewhere and required medical care can be expensive. Please know that your school does not assume responsibility for medical care costs but does offer you access to student accident insurance plans for voluntary purchase. See policy 6535 and RCW 28A.400.350.

Details about student accident insurance can be found in this 2021-22 brochure and enrollment form. (Spanish version.)  If your child already has health coverage, the student insurance plans offered here can also be used to expand choice of providers and help cover the high deductibles and the 30 to 40 percent cost sharing obligations imposed by many health plans today. To enroll, follow the instructions in the brochure linked above or go directly to www.myers-stevens.com. If you have any questions concerning coverages available or need help with enrollment, please call (800) 827-4695 for assistance.

Note: Myers-Stevens is not connected to Bellingham Public Schools in any way. We only agree to distribute their student accident insurance options. They agree to keep rates as low as possible to aid families. A family does not have to use Myers-Stevens for student accident insurance and may obtain student accident insurance from another company of their choice if they determine they need this coverage.
