Schools Dismiss at Regular Time; All Buses on Snow Routes
Our current plan is to dismiss our schools at their regular times and all buses are on snow routes for this afternoon, Friday, Feb. 23. Visit our snow routes webpage to find times/bus stop information. Click on your school, find your child’s bus route and scroll down to afternoon routes. Remember, these are new snow routes and for the most part, they are limited to major arterials. Our bus drivers will do their best to help determine if a student feels safe getting off at their snow bus route, and if not, students will be taken back to their elementary schools. High and middle school buses may be delayed.
All after-school activities and athletics this afternoon and evening are cancelled. The YMCA after-school childcare programs are running on a normal schedule, however they would appreciate parents picking up their children as early as possible.
Parents/guardians are welcome to pick up their children from school early or pick them up instead of taking the bus.
Parents who have high school age children who drove themselves to school: please consider coordinating with your child on whether they still drive home, or make other arrangements such as getting picked up by an adult or possibly leaving early.
If we have students who don’t feel safe walking home, we will communicate with parents and keep kids at school until they can get picked up.
I’ve asked our principals and staff to work on plans to keep our buildings open later if necessary so our students can stay warm until they can be picked up. I’d like to thank our staff in advance. As you’ve heard multiple times over the last two weeks, our priority is keeping our students safe. Thanks to each of for your flexibility and assistance.
