Most students in Bellingham Public Schools remain in Stage 1 of our Reconnect Plan and some have transitioned to stages 2 and 3. Students are participating in remote, at-home learning daily, which includes both real-time, live lessons mixed with independent, supported learning.

Children at Learning Assistance Program

Title I and Learning Assistance Program (LAP)

Supplemental Reading and/or Math support for selected students is the focus for Title I and LAP resources. These programs serve specific schools that meet the criteria set by the federal and state governments.

Special Education

Special Education is designed for students who may require specially designed instruction and related services to improve educational performance.

Children at Promise Kindergarten

Early Childhood Education

Promise K is a free, full-day early entrance kindergarten for children who are scheduled to enter kindergarten in the fall. Early Childhood Preschool provides a language-based curriculum to students ages 3-4 with developmental delays.

Online Learning (BVL)

Bellingham Virtual Learning (BVL) is a web-based educational program that provides instructor-led online courses to high school students through an agreement with Spokane Public Schools and Spokane Virtual Learning (SVL).

Highly Capable Learners (HCL)

HCL recognizes that all learning needs a foundation of basic skills, content, and learning strategies, and that students have different needs and learn at different rates.

Graduation, Reality and Dual-role Skills (GRADS)

GRADS (Graduation, Reality And Dual-role Skills) is a program for pregnant and parenting students that provides the academic and childcare support necessary to stay in high school and graduate.

English Language Learners and Migrant Programs (ELL)

Designed to accelerate English acquisition for students whose first language is not English and to further assist them in becoming successful learners in the classroom.

Children at Community Transitions

Community Transitions (CT)

A Special Education program that serves students through age 21, providing a full continuum of services to prepare students with disabilities for a successful transition to independent living, employment or training.

Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Supports students as they explore and prepare for careers and post-secondary certificate options, emphasizing life skills that will help ensure success in their chosen career.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID)

A middle school through high school college readiness system that is designed to increase student learning, performance and college readiness.
